Kyuss/Queens of the Stone Age-SPLIT EP

Here's something special for all of you. It's the long out of print and hard to find Kyuss/QOTSA split EP from way back in 1997. It's a great document to the end of Kyuss's career and the beginning of QOTSA.
I ripped it from a vinyl copy i recently bought, and encoded it for you at the glorious bitrate of 320!
It's a fairly big file, needless to say.

I'm doing this as a rapidshare link. If you understand rapidshare or have an account, go get it. If you're too lazy to figure out how to use rapidshare, just move along.
I would post it directly here, but i'm sure the amount of downloads would destroy my bandwidth alotment.

Enough rambling. Click the link to get it. If you want to repost it somewhere else, just give me credit and post a link to my page. Thanks.

Tony Danza Tapdance Extravaganza- s/t debut

This was also one of my top 10 favorite albums of last year as well. Here is what i wrote about it on my friend's site .

"Ferocioius, hard-as-nails, ass-kickin' tech-metal is what we gots right here. The first band that comes to mind when hearing them in The Dillinger Escape Plan. And that's a good thing. A very good thing. This isn't for the faint of heart. It's a pretty antagonistic record, if you can picture that. But they don't take themselves seriously at all. They have a sense of humor. Just look at the song titles like "Big Pun's Not Dead Because I Just Saw Him at Krispy Kreme". Ridiculous? Possibly. Awesome? Definitely."

If you've ever liked heavy metal, you have to here this.

Okkervil River- Black Sheep Boy LP + BSB Appendix EP

This was one of my top  10 albums of last year. To be completely honest, I'd probably recommend the EP as a safer bet if you've never heard them. It's just good, narrative indie rock.

It should also be noted that the parent directory also has great albums by Cat Power and The National.

Not too much intro here. It's just plain old cool. I want one very badly. If anyone has a couple hundred dollars that they don't know what to do with, this is my suggestion.

When you click the link, be sure to watch the movie and read the description of how it works.

The Shins- Oh, Inverted World

I defintely have much love for the Shins. If you ask me, both their albums are pretty near perfect. A new album is coming out this year, which gives me a bit of a chubby in my undershorts. I can't wait.

But one complaint. "Chutes Too narrow" came out all the way back in 2003. 3 years for a new album from an indie band? That is waaaaaaay to long. Someone has to crack the whip on Mr. Mercer.

In the meantime, here is there debut album from 2001.

I'm really proud of these students. This is a beautiful act of civil disobedience. Rarely do you see a group of young people get their point across so perfectly. Alberto Gonzalez looks like such an ass in the midst of all this...

Arcade Fire- Funeral

This was one of my favorite albums of 2004. If you don't already have a copy of it, it makes me wonder what rock you've been hiding under for the passed 2 years.

Friday 5-Pack!!! - 1/20/05

I swear, i had an interesting subject for the Friday 5 pack this week. But i dropped the ball, sorry. Busy at work, etc. Expect to see this "mystery" category next week...maybe...

As for now, just 5 kick-ass songs...

1. My Favorite Citizen: "Kayla Learns to Dance"
2. The Jam: "The Eton Rifles"
3. The La's: "Son of a Gun"
4. Motley Crue: "She Goes Down"
5. Ted Leo: "Since You Been Gone" (kelly clarkson cover)

Remember to go buy it if you like it.

Art Brut- Bang Bang Rock & Roll

The more i listen to this album, the more i like it. Just straight forward, fun Rock and/or Roll. How can you not love a singer who wants to rock out because of modern art? Go get it if you don't gots it already.
