Public Service Announcement

I'd like to thank everybody for stopping by. I'm averaging about 500 hits a day. That's kinda cool.

But please don't ask me to "fix a link".
Every single full album i post is taken from an open directory i find on my daily searches. Therefore, they are not my links in any way. When i post an album located in an open directory, the life of it is always sporadic and limited.  Sometimes, the link will last several weeks. Other times (like yesterday), the links will die in as little as 24 hours. When they die, they die. I have no control.

When i give a link to someone else's opendir, the process is always similar. I, and probably a couple more blogs, post the link. Then the website's visitors gangbang the shit out of it. At some point, the owner of the actual dir will notice that their bandwidth is being eaten alive. At that point, they take the link down or it gets taken down by the host of the files.

I do this for a very specific reason. I definitely feel that at some point the RIAA is going to crack down on Rapidshare. It probably won't happen soon, but it'll happen at some point. Those guys are a bunch of squares.
At the point when they do that, I want to be squeaky clean. I use rapidshare to download a ton, but i very rarely post my own stuff on it.

The Beatles - 3 ALBUMS!

Go quickly!
As stated in previous Beatles posts, open directories with Beatles albums die very very fast.

The Beatles: "Abbey Road"
The Beatles: "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band"
The Beatles: "Magical Mystery Tour"

The Raconteurs- Broken Boy Soldiers

"The new supergroup featuring Jack White and Brendan Benson".
Then why am i not excited at all?
I've had this album on my iPod for about a month, and still haven't listened to it. Give me your opinion first.
This one is an advance. It comes out in mid-may.

The Raconteurs: "Broken Boy Soldiers"

Band of Horses- Everything all the Time

Here's a well hyped album for ya. Good band? Absolutely. Great band? Not even close.
But they certainly have the potential to be great in years to come. Keep a tab on them.

Band of Horses: "Everything all the Time"

Spritualized- Ladies and Gentlemen We are Floating in Space

Definitely a classic album. A must own.
If you don't want the album, at least put the song "I Think I'm In Love" on your iPod. Then pay attention to those two piano notes that repeat throughout the 8 minutes of the song. It's killer.

Spritualized: "Ladies and Gentlemen We are Floating in Space"

Sonic Youth- Rather Ripped

Here's the new Sonic Youth album. It hasen't even come out yet.
Personally, I only need 1 SY album in my collection... and that album is "Daydream Nation".

Sonic Youth: "Rather Ripped"

Sebadoh- TWO ALBUMS

When i was 14 years old, Lou Barlow was a god to me. I lived and breathed Sebadoh/Sentridoh. Looking back, their music doesn't hold up as well as i thought it would. But these two albums are still incredibly solid and definitely worth owning. Especially "III". Everybody knows that's their masterpiece.

Sebadoh: "Bakesale"
Sebadoh: "III"

Neko Case- Fox Confessor Brings the Flood

I posted this a long time ago, but the link has long since died.
Since then, i've listened to this album a ton. It's very highly recommended. Definitely a solid 8 or even 9. It'll probably wind up on my end of the year top 10 list.
Just download this fresh link.

Neko Case: "Fox Confessor Brings the Flood"

Liars - Drums Not Dead

Honestly, i like their old stuff so much more. You know, back when their music was kinda fun. Now, they're just a bunch of pops and crackles from where i'm sitting.

Bob Marley - DISCOGRAPHY!!!

When i was about 20, i went to visit my boy Pete in Boston.
He'd met some rastafarian dude at the guitar center where he worked. The dude heard in playing drums and seems pretty intent on having Pete go to his place to jam with him. This get together happened during my visit.

We walk into the guys house and it has a full studio in it. Recording room, all the instruments, seperate room with sound/mixing board, seperate vocal room, the works.
Before the jamming starts, he and his friend tell us that they have a friend from Jamaica who's coming to stay with them for 2 months. And they also reveal that he hit the skins for Bob Marley for a couple of years. They looooooved this fact. In fact, they loved it so much that they repeated this story every 10 minutes for about 3 hours. Every few minutes on the dot..."He drum for Bob Marleeeey. He stay here for 2 months!" And every time they said it, they would say it with the same enthusiasm as the first time they said it, as if it was the first time they'd told us. It was kinda funny. And to add to the humor, every line they said ended with them yelling stuff along the lines of "Rastafarie!" and "Biddee-Yah-Bah-Bah-HEY!" or even "Peace be love to Jah at all time."

Another moment that stands out of this night is when they broke out the herbs.
One of them sits down and starts rolling a spliff. It was e-nor-mous. It probably had 1.5 grams of really dank buds in it. He finishes rolling and hands it to me. I light it up, take a couple hits, and proceed to pass it. He looks at me, shakes his finger at me, and says, "No, No man. That one is just for you. SHABAH!" (okay, i made up the shabah part for dramatic effect)
He then rolls a spliff of equal size for all 4 or 5 people in the room.
Needless to say, i was floored for several hours. Good times.

Why am i even bringing this crap up? Because i just found an open directory with Bob Marley's complete discography in it. Go download some stuff and smoke a spliff or something.
