The Dead Milkmen Death Rides a Pale Cow

Here's one of those bands i keep meaning to try out, but just haven't gotten around to. Any opinions? Any words of advice on discovering their material?

"Beelzebubba" is their most cohesive album, but they're really one of those band that works best when you're thirteen years old.

1984's Big Lizard in My Backyard is my FAV! With songs like Tiny Town, Bitchin Camero, Rastabilly and Filet of Sole, you can't go wrong. I bought it 84 and it has been in yearly rotation ever since.

I have to agree with Biff. Big Lizard is their first record, and the one they consistently failed to top. They're just a very bratty, fun little band. of all the stuff I was listening to in the mid-to-late 80's they're one of the few I still love.

They have been somewhat of an enigma for me. I bought big lizard in the 80's, then heard no more until they played in Oslo sometime in the 90's, when I heard them by coincidence. They were still playing songs from the first album, and I thought that was it. Living up to the first album - which was great - may have been the problem. They looked quite surprised when someone in the audience obviously knew their songs.
